The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. A zig-zag incision is made along the hairline, known as a pretrichial incision, which camouflages the scar within the hairline. 04. Recovery & Aftercare
After surgery, sutures are removed during the one-week follow-up visit. Patients are instructed to wear a compressive head wrap dressing for the first 48 hours. Swelling along the forehead and scalp is common and typically resolves within a few weeks. Numbness of the scalp is also common and will gradually return to normal sensation.
